Most scientific papers are wrong

'New Scientist' reports that a report from John Ioannidis at the University of Ioannina School of Medicine in Greece, has found that because most scientific papers use a small sample size, poor study design, researcher bias, and selective reporting - most of their research findings are later proven to be false.

Sony fakes movie critic

Film studio Sony will have to pay $1.5m after faking quotes on movie posters for four different movies.

Each of the movies were of a very low standard (A Knight's Tale, The Animal, The Patriot and Hollow man) so they made up a critic called David Manning - who went on to praise the films.

Italy cracks down on fake designer goods

Last May, Police in Florence started to crack down on people wearing or buying counterfeit designer clothing. In one day, police confiscated 1,159 counterfeit items, including 136 handbags, 200 CDs, 46 watches and 333 pairs of eyeglasses. With fines as high as 10,000 euros people are finding out it's cheaper to buy the real thing.
