Australian water crisis

Of the 25m gigalitres of water used in Australia each year, 17m gigalitres is used in agriculture. Of the 17m gigalitres used in agriculture more than one third of this water is used for politically sensitive, yet financially poor crops such as rice, sugar and cotton.
